Five women were sexually assaulted and a further two reported a man exposing himself to them along a 200-yard stretch of Foleshill Road.

The victims were aged from 21 to 80.

The incidents occurred between the junctions of Blue Ribbon Island and Cross Road between 9.30am and 11.30am on August 21 last year.

West Midlands Police are appealing for help to trace the suspect, described as a dark-skinned Asian in his late 20s or early 30s, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 11ins tall, with thick black wavy hair.

Sergeant Daniel Woolley, from Coventry’s public protection unit, said: “All five offences were committed within the space of a couple of hours

“The offender targeted women in apparently random attacks. Assaults on strangers in the street are extremely rare and, thankfully, none of the ladies were injured.

“However we are still very keen to trace the man as a matter of some urgency to avoid him offending again.

"We want to speak to anyone who believes they recognises the man in the CCTV.”

Anyone able to help police are asked to call 101 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
