A group of Leamington photographers are hoping to raise funds to help homeless people across Warwickshire by capturing them on lens.

The RAW photographers are spending the Christmas period chatting to those living on the streets and asking if they would like to have their picture in a calender which will be sold to raise funds towards charities that offer them support.

Among them is Julie Lewis, who said: “After buying a homeless man a coffee one freezing day, it dawned on me that more action needs to be taken to combat homelessness. That’s when the idea for the calendar was born.”

I have to say that the poor and those people with problems are better cared after in Leamington than anywhere else in the country. The churches here do an incredible job and have a continuous rota of collecting huge amounts of food and distributing them to those in need, there are also other organizations which again give a lot of support to the homeless and the poor.
In our own Catholic church the food is delivered weekly in great baskets and the Methodist church has kitchens and an outreach, giving out hot food, which is just phenomenal.
