Saint Bar in Leamington will still operate under its normal opening hours and will not have to close for a month, a licensing review panel has decided.
But the panel of Warwick district councillors also decided that the venue’s designated premises supervisor, Ulief Burton, should be removed from his post.
The decision was made at a hearing at Leamington town hall yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
Warwickshire Police had requested the review following a number of incidents at the bar including breaches of its license and 14 recorded assaults, which took place from January 2011 to March this year.
The force had sought a one-month suspension of the bar’s licence and a reduction of it’s licensable hours along with the removal of Mr Burton.
The bar must now adhere to a list of stringent security and management conditions set out by the panel.
An appeal can be made within the next 21 days.
