Dogs banned from Baginton children's play area

Postby dutchman » Thu Apr 26, 2012 2:05 pm

Dogs have been banned from a children’s play area in Baginton.

At a Warwick District meeting councillors imposed exclusion areas in several parts of the county, including a play area in Frances Road, Baginton.

Other areas affected were Austen Court in Cubbington, Leamington and Norton Lindsey village hall, near Warwick.

Six other sites across Warwickshire were put forward to the council’s executive committee but were not considered suitable for exclusion orders to be placed.

Coun Michael Doody, said: “This all started 12 months ago and there was a big uproar from residents against it.

“But since then people have realised it is for the best, especially for children’s play areas.”

Last year Warwick District Council introduced orders for dog fouling, dogs on leads and exclusion areas.

It meant dogs were not permitted in Jephson Gardens, Leamington; Leamington, Kenilworth and Warwick cemeteries, the footpath on Newbold Comyn golf course and Warwick Racecourse.
