A white van man knocked a pensioner off her mobility scooter while leaving a pub car park.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened earlier this month.
The lady, in her 70s, was riding on a footpath past the entrance to The Half Sovereign pub in Charter Avenue, Canley when she was hit by the van.
The impact was so harsh she was thrown from the scooter and needed hospital treatment for cuts and gazes. Several members of the public came to her aid but the driver drove off.
Investigating officer PC Mike Rochford, from Willenhall police station, said police wanted to speak to witnesses.
"The collision knocked the scooter over onto its side.
"It was a heavy shunt and there is no way the driver would have been oblivious to the crash.
"I know there were several people in the area, some of whom helped the lady to her feet. However, most moved away quickly before police had arrived on the scene and were able to take statements.
"We need to speak to these people as they could have important information which might help us trace the driver. We know it was a white transit-style van which is likely to have connections to the local area."
The incident occurred just after 3.30pm on Tuesday, March 20.
Anyone with information, or who suspects they know who was involved, is asked to contact PC Rochford on 101 and dial extension 7934 6557.
