Bus boss: We're not to blame for Keresley school bus crash

A TRANSPORT boss has defended his firm after six people were hurt in a crash between a school bus and a car in Keresley.

Ben Hobday, project manager of Travel de Courcey, says Wednesday’s incident when a car and a double-decker Travel de Courcey bus were in collision in Coventry was neither the fault of the bus driver or the bus company.

Four teenagers and two adults were injured in the crash which happened at the junction of Tamworth Road and Waste Lane at about 4.30pm, as the Telegraph reported on Thursday.

The bus was carrying a total of 35 pupils and staff at the time of the collision.

Defending the bus driver and the company, Mr Hobday said: “It wasn’t the bus driver’s or the bus company’s fault. It was an accident.

“We were taking children home.”

A teenage girl, who was on the bus, was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar and taken to Coventry’s University Hospital.

Three other girls suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
