Ridgeway School left the Montague Road site over a year ago and moved to the Woodloes estate.

County councillor Martyn Ashford (Con, Warwick North) said: “The county council is currently looking at how best to dispose of the site and consider a range of future uses and designs. Whilst we are discussing future plans no time schedule’s yet been confirmed. Whatever goes on the site, will have to pay for the £10 million development at The Ridgeway and Woodloes Primary School site.”

District councillor Moira-Ann Grainger (Con, Warwick North) said: “As far as I am aware the county council, having asked the question directly, will be placing the land on the open market for housing development, and will in the near future go for outline planning permission.

“This will I hope result in a well planned mixed development coming forward to the district council including affordable housing in line with our current planning policy.”
