The driver who hit and killed a popular Coventry teenager has admitted causing death by careless driving.
Margaret Gaturu, of Mary Slessor Street, Willenhall, has admitted causing the accident which killed Bradley Galvin.
The 16-year-old was riding his bike in Willenhall in April when he was struck by a car being driven by Gaturu.
He was trapped under her car and was declared dead at the scene.
Yesterday, eight months after Bradley’s death, Gaturu, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by careless driving.
She could be jailed for five years when she is sentenced next month.
Bradley’s mum Andrea Galvin said yesterday she was pleased Gaturu had admitted the charge but added nothing could ever bring her beloved son back.
Friends and family of Bradley, who lived in Marlcroft, packed into Coventry Crown Court for the hearing, with many wearing special memorial T-shirts.
At the end of the short hearing Judge Paul Farrer QC said: “You have pleaded guilty to causing the death by careless driving of Bradley Galvin.
“That, as I am sure you are aware, is an extremely serious matter. You are 42 years of age and have never previously been in trouble.
“Under the circumstances I cannot sentence you today much as I am certain you and everyone else would like to know what the sentence will be.
"The court has to know more about you before determining the nature or length of sentence. I make it clear to you that in adjourning the case I make you no promises as to how you might eventually be dealt with.”
