Warwickshire Police issue appeal over robberies

Warwickshire Police has issued a witness appeal after a spate of robberies occurred in the region at the weekend.

The first robbery took place early on Monday morning at at the Co-op store on School Road, Bulkington.

The intruders, dressed in dark clothing and black balaclavas, were carrying a crow bar and a hammer which they used to threaten staff inside the store.

They told staff to open the safe before stealing an undisclosed quantity of money.

Staff were locked in an office as the offenders made their getaway, taking computer equipment with them.

One of the men is six feet tall and of stocky build, while the second male is approximately six feet two inches tall.

Warwickshire Police is also appealing for information about a robbery at the One Stop store on Rugby Road, Binley Woods, shortly before 7am on Tuesday.

Three males, all wearing balaclavas and carrying hammers, stole money and cigarettes before driving off in a blue Ford Focus, which was earlier stolen from the Radford area of Coventry.

Warwickshire Police is also investigating an attempted robbery at the Spa shop in Leicester Street in Bulkington, whick took place between 3pm on Sunday and 7am on Monday.
