About 30 staff and members of Esporta Warwickshire will dare to bare for Breast Cancer Care at 2.45pm before Coventry’s home game against Cinderford at the Butts Park Arena.

The idea came from Vicky King, who works at the gym, in the hope of raising £2,000 for the charity.

She said: “We know a lot of members of Esporta who have been affected by breast cancer in some way and we wanted to help.

"Streaking across a pitch has always been on my personal ‘bucket list’ and helping people along the way was part of the deal, then why not?

“We’re all a bit nervous – none of us have done this before but we’re doing it for a good cause and that’s what counts.”

Among the women will be Janet Joseph, aged 54, of Chapelfields, who will be “streaking” after seven of her friends were diagnosed with breast cancer.

The account director and member of Esporta said: “Seeing my friends get cancer was a horrible and traumatic experience – the charity is very close to my heart.

“I hope it will also encourage women who suspect they might have it to get a mammogram. It could save their life.”

The women have said they will not be running completely starkers but will decided how much they want to bare on the day.
