A total of £1,300 has been found down the back of a sofa in a Warwickshire charity shop, it has emerged.
Karen Wilson, the manager of the British Heart Foundation in Rugby, said she had found the money as she was readying the sofa for the shop floor.
The owners inherited the sofa but had kept it in storage for a year before giving it to the charity shop.
Following the find, staff tracked down the owners, who then donated £100 back as a thank you.
Miss Wilson said she had found the odd coin, bras and even a birth certificate, but was astonished to find an envelope containing so much money.
