Work has started to try to get rid of Warwickshire’s pot holes once and for all.
£2 million pounds will be spent between now and September resurfacing roads across the county.
370 sites in all will be treated, covering some 200 kilometres, ranging from A roads to cul-de-sacs.
Work has already started in Warwick and Stratford, and it will then move on to the north of the county.
Balfour Beatty who are now the contractors for highways work both in Warwickshire and Coventry will be carrying out the work.
Councillor Peter Butlin, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Highways and Transport, said:
“Uniquely, the contract will incorporate the delivery of some highway services for Coventry City Council – commencing with surface dressing works where 40 roads in Coventry will be treated this summer in conjunction with Warwickshire’s programme.
“The annual surface dressing will cost effectively extend the life of our roads, and the delivery of these works through this unique contract provides good value for money for the taxpayer.”
