The government has confirmed multi-million pounds plans to improve an accident blackspot in Coventry won’t happen for at least another 4 years.
Highways bosses want a new underpass as well as wider roads to try to stop so many crashes happening at Tollbar Island, where the A45 meets the A46.
Tens of thousands of vehicles use the route every day and accidents can cause massive delays for the whole region.
A public inquiry has already been held into the scheme after 19 people put in objections.
The results have never been released but government transport bosses say they will continue to work on the scheme so it will be ready when approval is given after 2015.
