Jacky Forward, aged 58, has visited her husband David’s grave every single day since he died as the result of a blood clot in March 2009.

The mother-of-eight said she feels closest to her husband at his graveside at Canley Crematorium.

“I come here every single day, at least once, and I haven’t missed one day,” she said.

“Even when I had swine flu, I was carried to the grave. Sometimes if it’s late in the day and I haven’t been, I suffer from panic attacks.

“I saw him every day during our 37-year marriage and now it’s no different.”

Mrs Forward, who has 24 grandchildren, made her daily visit to her husband’s grave on Tuesday morning.

But once there she discovered thieves had stolen flowers left at the graveside by her grandchildren.

During a two-hour hunt among the gravestones for the flowers, Mrs Forward and her daughter Lisa came across bedding plants ripped out of the ground at another graveside and a headstone that had been pushed over.
