A member of staff at a Coventry working men’s club been hurt in an armed robbery overnight.
The worker was assaulted with a baton in the raid on the Lime Tree Park club on Templar Avenue just before 1am this morning.
Two offenders approached four staff from outside, from the direction of the rear car park and forced them back into the club.
The staff were threatened with a gun and a baton, while being forced to hand over cash from the safe.
The offenders, described as wearing black clothing a balaclavas, then stole an amount of cash, before escaping.
DC Cath Dell from West Midlands Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing this morning into the incident, it is not known at this stage how the offenders escaped or whether a vehicle was used.”
