It’s been announced trains will soon go from Warwick Parkway down to London without stopping.

It’ll form part of the new Chiltern Mailine, which will start running on Sunday 3rd May.

The service would run at peak business times, with the fastest trains taking less than 70 minutes to reach the capital, well over 20 minutes quicker than it is now.

Other services throughout the day will see trains call at Leamington and Banbury with a journey time around 75 minutes.

For the first time, Leamington will also have a late night train to London and a midnight service on Fridays.

Bosses at Chiltern are hoping the changes will see more people use the route, especially businesses.

Already half a million people a year use Warwick Parkway and its 589 parking spaces.

Thomas Ableman, Director of Chiltern Railways said: “We believe the Mainline timetable has the potential to transform the working lives of the people in the area by offering them a viable commute to London and attracting investment into the Warwickshire economy.”

“Our new 70 minute journey time is a significant improvement to current journey times and it won’t be long before our customers get to experience the new service.”

The timetable is available on the company’s website and people can comment on the changes until 24th February.
