A mother cat and her four tiny kittens were found trapped inside knotted pillowcases and dumped in woods.
RSPCA officers found the abandoned pets in woodland behind Ashwood Road, Nuneaton.
The 12-week old kittens were used to being handled so it is thought they had been living in a home before being cruelly dumped in the woods.
The find is the latest in a series of cases of animals being abandoned.
Days after the Nuneaton find, two female cats were discovered in a zipped holdall in Coventry.
The cats, who are between six and 12 months old, were found abandoned in Holyhead Road, Coundon.
All the cats are now being cared for by staff at the RSPCA’s base in Coundon Wedge Drive, near Allesley.
RSPCA inspector Helen Smith said: “It seems to me that no matter how many times we advise the public that abandoning an animal is morally and legally wrong people couldn’t care less.
