Owners of a popular Coventry bar The Tin Angel have been forced to move out of their premises.

The bar, in Lower Holyhead Road, city centre, is a regular live music venue for local bands, and was forced to close up last week in a disagreement with the landlord.

All last weekend’s entertainment was moved to Taylor John’s House at the Canal Basin which is also owned by the same group.

On their website, owners said: "Due to a dispute with the owner of the building we are currently unable to open The Tin Angel. Whilst we work to resolve this we are moving to Taylor John’s."

It is thought the landlord is keen to sell or redevelop the building.

On their facebook page, the owner’s also added: "He has invoked a legal loophole in our lease in an attempt to kick us out. We intend to fight this."

They said they hoped the closure was temporary and would re-open later this week.

Can't say I'm sorry. There's not exactly a shortage of boozers in that part of Spon End. It was formerly a furniture store and before that a chemist's.
