Man arrested after assault outside Rugby Conservative Club

A man has been arrested after a 54-year old suffered bleeding to the brain in a fight outside a club in Rugby.



Police were called out to a scuffle at the Conservative Club on Avenue Road just after 2am on Sunday morning.

The man’s receiving treatment at Coventry’s University Hospital for head injuries and a broken ankle.

A 29-year old’s in custody in Rugby and is being questioned on suspicion of assault.

Warwickshire Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or anything which may have triggered it either inside or outside the club.
