It followed claims he misled MPs about the process to appoint Lord Mandelson as US ambassador
Local Labour MPs were not among the rebels who voted for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to face an investigation into the Prime Minister over his appointment of Lord Peter Mandelson.
A motion to refer Sir Keir Starmer to the Privileges Committee was held in the House of Commons yesterday.
It was rejected by 223 to 335, a majority 112. No local Labour MPs voted in favour of the motion.
But Coventry South MP, Zarah Sultana, a former Labour member now Your Party representative, was among those who voted for him to face an investigation.
It came after she was sensationally kicked out of the House of Commons. after she called the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer a 'bare-faced liar' on April 20 over Lord Mandleson's appointment.
The full run down of votes by MPs across our area is as follows:
In favour of the motion - Zarah Sultana (Coventry South)
Against the motion - Mary Creagh (Coventry East)
- Taiwo Owatemi (Coventry North West),
- Jodie Gosling ( Nuneaton )
- Rachel Taylor (North Warwickshire and Bedworth )
- Matt Western ( Warwick and Leamington)
- John Slinger (Rugby)
There was no vote recorded for Jeremy Wright ( Kenilworth and Southam).
