Emergency services were called to the semi-detached house in Little Warton Road, Warton, near Polesworth, during the afternoon.

The ambulance service said two men, aged 56 and 21, outside the house, were treated for smoke inhalation.

A woman is "unaccounted for" but believed to be inside the house, which is too badly damaged to be entered, the spokesman said.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Unfortunately, a woman was unaccounted for and is believed to be inside the building.

"Due to the level of damage to the property it was not possible for firefighters to enter the building."

Up to 25 firefighters were called to the house after the fire started at about 1425 GMT.

A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire had spread to a neighbouring property.

The house was said to be "well alight".
