Buses across Coventry have been severely disrupted by Storm Goretti. Snow blanketed the city yesterday evening (January 8).

Challenging road conditions persist this morning (January 9). Services operated by National Express Coventry have been affected.

Routes for the 7, 8 and 20 have been adjusted. Passengers have been advised to plan ahead before travelling.

National Express said the 7, which runs from Bell Green to Brownshill Green, is terminating at The Covered Wagon on Holyhead Road this morning. Service 8, which operates between Allesley Park and Walsgrave, is not serving Winsford Avenue or Allesley Park.

Disruption is also expected on the 20, which runs from Coventry to Nuneaton. It will be running via the A444 and avoiding Hilltop.

Trains across Coventry and Warwickshire are also facing major disruption this morning (January 9). People planning to travel with WM Railway are being urged to wait until this evening.

A spokesman for National Express Coventry said: “Due to difficult road conditions and low temperatures, the following services are currently affected. Service 7 (Bell Green to Brownshill Green) terminating at Holyhead Road.

“Service 8 (Allesley Park to Walsgrave) is not serving Winsford Avenue or Allesley Park. 20 (Coventry to Nuneaton) Using A444. Thank you for bearing with us. Please travel safe.”

Jonny Wiseman, from WM Railway, said: “Customers are urged not to attempt travel today while our services are suspended. We are working closely with Network Rail to resume services as soon as possible, once it is safe to do so.

“We will provide regular updates via our website and social channels to advise customers when we are able to resume services. Passengers are advised to check journey planners before travelling. I would like to thank frontline staff for their hard work and dedication and our passengers for their understanding.”
