Crews have been 'working hard' to clear the backlog today (January 5)
Homeowners have been warned of delays to bin collections due to schedule changes over the festive period. Some residents have reported missed general waste and recycling pickups across Coventry.
Collections followed altered timetables over Christmas and the New Year. Coventry City Council confirmed that some bins were not collected on Friday, January 2.
Crews said they are 'working hard' to clear any backlog. Work is continuing to ensure delayed collections are completed in the coming days.
Residents are advised to leave their bins out if they have not yet been collected. Crews will empty them throughout the day today (January 5) and on Tuesday (January 6).
Garden waste was also not collected during the Christmas period. Service will resume from around Tuesday, January 13, with some areas restarting the week beginning Monday, January 19.
A spokesman for Coventry City Council said: “Our crews worked over Christmas and New Year and managed to collect most bins. We have a number of crews out today and a few extra crews out tomorrow to catch up on the last few missed bins.”
