Planning documents showed how the updated flats could look
A complex of retirement properties which have sat empty for three years are set to be converted into larger flats for social housing.
New windows and doors will be installed to reformat existing apartments on the Southfields estate in Leamington Spa.
They will be turned into 38 one and two-bedroom "units" as well as eight one one-bedroom apartments.
The plans were approved by Warwick District Council on Tuesday after bosses said they supported the redevelopment to increase affordable housing provision.
A report said concerns had been raised about a shortfall in on-site parking which could result in parking on the road.
The document added a "car club" sharing scheme would be encouraged.

Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
