Police swooped on a car in Coventry and caught a wanted man. Officers from Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit intercepted the Ford Kuga on Longford Road.

They surrounded the car to bring it to a stop late last night (January 26). Checks were made of the people inside the car.

They team went on to arrest the front seat passenger who was wanted for failing to appear at court for drugs offences. The wanted man, who has not been identified, was taken into custody at Nuneaton Police Station.

He is now due to appear before the courts this morning (January 27). It was the latest action from the team who also stopped a van on the M6.

The team said that checks revealed that the transit van was on cloned plates. The driver had no insurance, no MOT, no tax and also did not have the correct licence.

The car was seized and the driver reported to court. Officers have also been continuing their work for 'Operation Revoke'. The aim is to ensure that, when drivers are caught for offences, the DVLA takes their licence away.
