A long-established Coventry firm has gone into liquidation, resulting in the loss of five jobs. FSW Security Products ceased trading after nearly 40 years on Friday (December 13).

FSW on Eden Street was established in 1985. It manufactured and installed roller shutters, metal gates, and security products throughout Coventry, Rugby, and Nuneaton.

Staff were told they were being laid off on Friday (December 13). Liquidators Horsfields, who are based in Bury, have been appointed.

Ms Helen Williams, from Horsfields, will be selling off assets to repay debts owed by the city-based firm, which said it had been 'making a loss for a while.' Owner Wayne John said the decision to wind down the company was taken with 'great regret.'

In a letter seen by CoventryLive, Mr John said: “It is with great regret that we are having to make you redundant from Friday, December 13, 2024. Unfortunately, the business can no longer operate and is ceasing trading as we have been making a loss for a while.”

He added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your services over the years and wish you well in everything you do in future.”
