Police rushed to a property on Burnaby Road yesterday (December 10)A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in Coventry. It happened on Burnaby Road in Radford.
Police were called to a city property at around 1pm yesterday (Tuesday, December 10). Officers arrived at the scene to find a woman critically injured.
Nothing could be done to save the woman, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said. A post-mortem will be held today (December 11) to establish how she died.
A man in his 30s was arrested at a nearby premises at around 1.30pm. He remains in custody on suspicion of murder, West Midlands Police said.
Officers investigating the incident said the man is believed to have been known to the victim, who has not been identified. Investigations into what happened are in their 'very early stages.'
Patrols have been stepped up in Radford today (December 11). Forensics will be carrying out detailed examinations, and CCTV will also be reviewed.

“Officers arrived at the scene on Burnaby Road, but sadly, nothing could be done to save her, and she was pronounced dead. A post-mortem will be held today (December 11) to establish how she died.
“A man in his 30s was arrested at a nearby premises at just after 1.30pm and remains in custody on suspicion of murder. He is believed to have been known to the victim.
“We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation. Investigations are at a very early stage with an increased police presence in the area as we work to establish exactly what has happened.
