Woman arrested for murder after man found fatally injured in Foleshill

A woman has been arrested as part of a murder probe after a man was found with fatal injuries in Coventry. He was discovered at an address in Foleshill this morning (Tuesday, September 17).

Officers were called to an incident on Edmund Road at around 4am. A man was found critically injured, but despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was confirmed dead a short time later, West Midlands Police said.

A 35-year-old woman, understood to be known to the man, has been arrested on suspicion of murder, West Midlands Police said. She remains in custody for questioning.

Detectives remain at the scene this evening (September 17). Anyone with information about the incident has been urged to get in touch with West Midlands Police by calling 101.

In a statement issued this evening (September 17), West Midlands Police said: “We have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder after a man was found with fatal injuries at an address in Coventry this morning (September 17). We were called to Edmund Road just before 4am and discovered a man seriously injured.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was confirmed dead a short time later. A 35-year-old woman, understood to be known to the man, has been arrested and taken into custody for questioning.

Woman named and charged after death of 'caring' man in Coventry

A woman has been charged with the murder of a 'wonderful and caring' man in Coventry. Alfred James Corbett was found critically injured at an address in Foleshill.

Alfred, also known as Jamie, was found with life-threatening injuries at a property on Edmund Road at around 4am yesterday morning (Tuesday, September 17). Paramedics battled to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

Laura Shanley, 35, was arrested at the scene of the incident and has since been charged with murder, West Midlands Police said. She has been remanded to appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Thursday, August 19).

Detectives are continuing to investigate the tragedy and have urged those with information to get in touch by calling 101. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.

In a statement issued this evening (September 18), West Midlands Police said: “We have charged a woman with murder after a man died at an address in Coventry. Laura Shanley was arrested yesterday (September 17) in Edmund Road and has been charged with the murder of Alfred James Corbett.

“Alfred, also known as 'Jamie' to friends and family, was found seriously injured just after 4am on September 17. Shanley has been remanded to appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court tomorrow (August 19).

“We are continuing to ask the public for any information which could help our investigation. Contact us via 101 or Live Chat, quoting log 357 of September 17.”
