A much-loved Italian restaurant will soon be closing in Kenilworth. Zizzi on The Square will be shutting its doors for good in July.

Zizzi, which is part of the Azzurri Group, told CoventryLive that the popular restaurant will be closing on Sunday, July 28. Staff will be relocated to other branches in the region, including Broadgate in Coventry and Leamington Spa.

Firm Bromwich Hardy said the Grade II listed building, located at 29 The Square, will be available to rent from August 2024. Agents are asking for £42,500 per annum to let the ground floor restaurant, which they say has 'modern facilities.'

Phil-Boyd, Operations Director at Zizzi, said: “Zizzi Kenilworth will be closing its doors this July. We have enjoyed our time in Kenilworth getting to know the locals and sharing good times over delicious food.

“All our wonderful staff from the Kenilworth restaurant will be offered positions at our neighbouring restaurants and we fully aim to retain all of our team to other restaurants within the Zizzi group. We welcome customers from Kenilworth and the surrounding local areas to come and find us close by in Leamington Spa or Coventry.”

Customers shared their sadness at the upcoming closure, with one describing it as 'such a shame.' Lee Webb said: “Well, another great restaurant leaves.”

Karen Baker commented: “Shame, lovely food and great staff.” A third said: “Such a shame, it has always been one of the most family-friendly restaurants in Kenilworth.”
