A Coventry shop has relocated ahead of the multi-million-pound regeneration project City Centre South. ShopMobility will be opening on Greyfriars Lane next to Salt Lane Car Park.

ShopMobility provides powered and un-powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters for people who have limited mobility, according to Coventry City Council. Services are provided by Mobility Pathways Limited.

Councillor Jim'Boyle told CoventryLive that ShopMobility in Barracks Car Park has closed ahead of the site being demolished for City Centre South. It shut for the final time last Saturday (April 27).

Coventry City Council said a brand-new facility has been built next to Salt Lane Car Park. It has been funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Customers can visit the new city-centre-based shop from Tuesday, May 7. It will open from 8.45am to 4.15pm from Monday to Saturday.

Councillor Jim O'Boyle, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Regeneration and Climate Change, said: “I am really looking forward to the new ShopMobility opening next week. It has been co-designed with input from Mobility Pathways Limited who will continue to run it in the new location.

“It will include a charging station and workshop for scooters as well as inside and outside seating and a new Changing Places Toilet. It will also have a drop-off and collection point for on-demand buses and taxis which will make it really easy to access.”
