Special constables across the West Midlands will be out in force over the Halloween and Bonfire Night period.

They will work on activities alongside regular officers including carrying out high-visibility patrols and targeting anti-social behaviour hotspots.

Communities often express concern to local officers about anti-social behaviour at this time of year, West Midlands Police said.

Operation Scarecrow will run until 7 November.

There were patrols all over the Spon End estate last night although I'm unaware of any reports of trouble.

It's usually the teenagers that cause problems.

Our house used to be egged every Halloween because we wouldn't open the door to them. I usually try to make it look as if I'm out.

I had so many callers yesterday I assumed that was Halloween so didn't answer the door today :clown: All but one of the calls has been during the day, just one after dark. That's probably why I missed them all last year?
