Man named and charged after fatal stabbing in CoventryA man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Coventry. It happened on Upper Well Street in the early hours of Thursday, April 6.
Officers were called to the busy street shortly before 2.40am. A man was found seriously injured and was pronounced dead shortly after. Today, the victim has been named as 22-year-old Shou Zou.
A murder investigation was launched by West Midlands Police. Forensics were seen combing the crime scene for evidence on Thursday (April 6).
Penqui Sun, from Coventry, was today charged with the murder of Mr Zou. He will appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court on Saturday (April 8).
A man, aged 20, also suffered a shoulder and hand injury. He has been treated for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. Sun, 23, has also been charged with attempted murder, confirmed West Midlands Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Sanders, from Coventry Police, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of Mr Zou who have now been informed about their loved ones death. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the attack but our investigations continue.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward and speak to us. If anyone has any footage, CCTV or dashcam footage then please call me or one of my team on 101 quoting log number 295 of 6 April.”
