They had been gathering on a bench on the main route into the town centre - which has now been removed

A gang of boozed and drugged-up trouble-makers have been warned to stop intimidating people and causing trouble on the outskirts of Nuneaton town centre. They had been gathering on the bench, close to the public phone box, near to Cash Converters on Queens Road.

Nuneaton Police say they received several complaints from members of the public about the presence of the gang, how they felt intimated by them and also about their behaviour. As a result, Sergeant Ryan Walker confirmed to CoventryLive that some members of the group have been issued with police Community Protection Warning (CPWs).

Police have also ordered the bench to be removed in a bid to deter them from hanging around there. But Sgt Walker said that they are aware that the removal of the bench and the warnings may not solve the problem and they are poised to take further action against all members of the group.

Some of them were already subject of banning orders from the town centre - and this could be extended further past the confines of the ringroad. They could also face arrest if given Community Protection Notices.

So because of a couple of yobs the seat has been removed? - Madness!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

There were a pair of park benches close to where I used to live and they were a magnet for troublemakers, many of whom lived nowhere near Spon End.
