Delays warning as roads closed due to level crossing resurfacing work

Drivers are being warned about the closure of Coundon level crossing and the roads around it. Network Rail will be carrying out works to resurface the crossing on Saturday and Sunday.

To ensure that this is done safely, a road closure will be in place on Coundon Road at its junction with Barker Butts Lane. It will be closed from 11pm on Saturday (July 15) until 4pm on Sunday (July 16).

Motorists as well as emergency services crews have been pre-warned about the closure, which could cause some delays and disruption.

Other roadworks

According to the council's highways programme there are also planned roadworks elsewhere in the city over the coming days. These are:

• Bell Green Road - will be closed between the junction of Nuffield Road and Sewall Highway on Sunday, July 16.
  
  
• Avon Street - will be closed between the junction of Clovelly Road and Alfall Road on Monday, July 17 between 8am and 4pm.
  
  
• Humber Road - two way signals from Monday, July 17 to Thursday, July 20 between 6am and 6pm.
  
  
• Nunts Lane - road closure at its junction with Wheelwright Lane from Monday, July 17 to Thursday, July 20.
  
  
• St Martins Roads - four way signals at its junction with Green Lane and Howes Lane from Monday, July 17 to Monday, July 31.
