A busy part of the city centre will be transformed into a farmyard during the Easter Holidays. Children will have the chance to visit the free attraction next Friday and Saturday (April 7 and 8).

Families can visit the 'Broadgate Farmyard' from 10am to 4pm on both days on Broadgate in Coventry. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities at the attraction which will be based near Primark.

A collection of real farm animals including lambs, sheep, rabbits, chickens and ducks can be petted. Children will also have the chance to watch the animals being fed.

A host of entertainment will also be taking place, with appearances from Farmer Giles and Plucky the Giant. Farmers Frank and Dave will also be on hand with their chocolate-laying chicken which will be the perfect treat for all the family.

Kids can also take part in 'Dippy the Dinosaur' egg painting and seed bomb workshops with the help of employees from the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. A range of tractors will also be on display from the Coventry Transport Museum.

Councillor Abdul Khan, Deputy Leader at Coventry City Council, said: “The Broadgate Farmyard is going to be fantastic for everyone in the city. It will be great for families with young children of all ages with the varied entertainment on offer.

“All entertainment and activities at the event are free which we hope means more families in the city have the opportunity to enjoy some festive activity during the Easter holiday. No bookings are required for the event, just turn up on either day and enjoy what's on offer.”
