A popular Coventry sandwich bar has hit the market for £220,000. Potbelly in Longford Road has recently been listed on Rightmove.

Noel and Rachel Rebbeck have owned the family-run eatery for nearly a decade and are well-known in the city, with the pair previously running Loafers at Coventry Train Station. It was not long after that when the couple decided to launch Potbelly in Longford.

It has since become famed in the local neighbourhood for its slow-roast pork, with many travelling from across the city to visit the sandwich bar. Noel, 48, and Rachel, 49, have taken the decision to sell the company with hopes the new owner will continue the concept first established in 2014.

The listing says the takeaway has a turnover of £250,000. It is also based in a 'busy location' on Longford Road.

Potbelly serves freshly cooked breakfasts, sandwiches and burgers and has amassed hundreds of positive reviews on Facebook, Google, and RestaurantGuru. Customers also order and have their food delivered through JustEat.

Speaking to CoventryLive, Noel said: “It is a nice steady formula that people like. We have created a niche product and I am very proud.”

Potbelly is conveniently located within close walking distance of Arena Shopping Park. Noel said extending the current opening hours would allow the business to attract high levels of trade from event crowds, such as football supporters and concert-goers.

He said: “If somebody is going to come in and move forward with it, they can do longer hours and open when concerts and the football are on at the CBS Arena so the potential for growth is absolutely massive.”

Noel said he has loved every minute of working at the sandwich bar but wants to have a change of pace and potentially move further afield. “I think the idea is to move down to Dorset. We do a lot of walking and swimming, and after the last few years with Covid, we have realised that life is very precious,” he said.
