But there might still be life left in the Smith Street business

A Warwick cafe has suddenly closed, leaving customers and residents of the town disappointed. But that might not be the end of Switch Cafe and Bar.

A closure sign left in the window of the Smith Street eatery has appealed for anyone interested in taking the business over to get in touch with the owner. Failing that the cafe, which only rebranded last year having previously been known as Revive, might still relaunch as a 'co-working space' provided there is enough interest.

A picture of the closure sign was published on the Warwick Noticeboard Facebook page and accompanied by text which said: "What happened here then? Kitchen was shut for weeks on end first.

"Went down hill after they changed the name and menu. Bit of a shame." The post received a number of comments with others also suggesting the cafe's standards had dropped after its refit.

Sarah Naylor said: "Oh that’s a shame! I loved it when it first opened under the previous name. Lovely setting and the food & drink was good for us as a family."

Lucy Elliott wrote: "Revive was great. Switch was not." And in response to a separate comment from the post's author, Mike Lindridge said: "Shame as when it was Revive I had a couple of nice lunches in there."

Cressida Stanley-Williams said: "Not the best food experience when I went, never seemed busy which is a shame." CoventryLive has approached the owners of Switch for a comment.
