It has served generations for more than four decades
One of Nuneaton town centre's most well-known, family-run stores has shut its doors for good. Martins Pet Supplies has served generations of townsfolk for more than four decades.
Its bright blue sign, yellow writing and green parrot image has been a presence on Queens Road for years and many had their first ever pets, from birds to goldfish, hamsters and gerbils, from the shop. But a post on the shop's page on Facebook said that Christmas Eve was to be its last ever day of trading.
"As some of you are aware we'll be closing our doors for good and heading onto our next adventure," the post read. We'll be closing our doors for the very last time on December 24 (Christmas Eve).
"It'll be a sad goodbye but a long overdue one. We thank all of our wonderful and loyal customers for your continued support."
It prompted a flurry of comments from people about the loss of the shop, which has given so many people their beloved pets over the years.
