Huge police presence as officers raid two addresses on same street in Coventry

Police raided two addresses as a large police presence was seen in Coventry. Officers executed two warrants on Windmill Road, Longford on Monday (August 8).

Police discovered a stolen car which had been broken down into parts in a house garage on the residential street. A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He remains in police custody for questioning.

An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, told CoventryLive : “I was walking up Windmill Road, and I saw about fifteen police officers, two police cars and one van. It looked like police were raiding a garage near the newsagents”.

Officers later executed a second warrant at a nearby industrial estate. Two stolen cars were found at the site on Windmill Road.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We executed warrants at two addresses in Windmill Road, Coventry, last night (August 8). We discovered a stolen car which had been broken down into parts in a house garage.

“A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remains in police custody for questioning. We executed a second warrant at a nearby industrial unit and found two stolen cars. Enquiries are ongoing”.
