Arson attack started huge blaze that destroyed Holbrooks garages

Foleshill firefighters had to demolish the garages after the blaze was extinguished



Coventry firefighters were called to the scene of a blaze after two garages were set alight in the early hours of this morning. The garages were located in Leyburn Close in Holbrooks.

The fire happened at around 2am this morning (Friday April 8). A crew from Foleshill fire station attended.

A spokesman for Foleshill fire station said: “We used two hose reels and there was quite a bit of damage." They added that the garages were destroyed in the blaze and required demolition.

"There was a fair bit of rubbish in there and after that the brickwork and roof needed to be managed,” the spokesman said. ”The garages were made of brick and we had to take them down.”

The Foleshill fire station spokesman added that a lot of people would have seen the blaze and that the cause was deliberate.
