Garden waste collection will be paused in Coventry until next year.

Coventry City Council (CCC) have announced today that the collection will be temporarily stopped from December 13 until the first week in February.

This comes after the council were under fire for their treatment of bin men ahead of potential strikes.

This means your scheduled brown bin collection in the next few weeks will be the last.

Residents are being urged to ensure their bins are out by 7am on the next collection day, so they're not overflowing for months.

The reason for the two-month pause is down to waste collections being "suspended" over the festive period every year.

However, the timescale has been extended this year.

A council spokesperson said: "We suspend garden waste collections every year over Christmas and New Year.

"We have extended this as we are changing the way that we carry out collections across the festive period for this year and want to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible."

London Road tip is staying open and you can book a slot here, if you need to dispose of waste during this time.
