Armed police raid flats in Nuneaton - two boys arrested
Police have revealed that two boys were arrested after armed teams swooped on flats in Nuneaton.
As we reported in our newsletter, the armed response unit was spotted swarming around one of the properties within a row flats on Queen Elizabeth Road on Friday night (September 24).
Police patrol cars blocked off the entrance to Queen Elizabeth Road at both the junction with Bucks Hill and also the junction with Brights Road.
At the time, no information about the incident was revealed by Warwickshire Police.
But now a spokesman has confirmed that firearms officers attended an address in Queen Elizabeth Road following alleged reports that a male had been threatened with a firearm at approximately 2.20pm.
The spokesman said that a suspect had then gone into a property on the street.
On arrival, officers stopped a suspect leaving the back of the address.
They made two arrests and a BB gun was recovered.
A 14-year-old boy, who has not been identified but is from Nuneaton, was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent.
Another another 14-year-old, also from Nuneaton, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Both were questioned and then released on bail.
