Four other people were arrested after the disturbance on Thursday morning
Police have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of murder following an incident in Exhall in which a man in his 70s died.
Warwickshire Police say four others have been arrested in connection with the incident which happened today (May 20) on Treviscoe Close in Exhall.
Detective Chief Inspector Jon Belcher, from Warwickshire, said “Next of kin has been informed and a full investigation is underway to establish the cause and circumstances that led to this loss of life.
"At this time it is believed that all the people involved in the disturbance were known to each other.
"Exhall residents should not be concerned by the large police presence today as a full forensic examination of the area and house to house enquiries are made to establish the facts.”
A statement from Warwickshire Police reads: "The incident occurred at around 8.45am this morning. Upon arrival, West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics administered emergency life support to a 72-year-old man but sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
"A second man and a woman were medically assessed and treated for minor injuries.
"Warwickshire Police has arrested a 44-year-old man on suspected murder and four other people for their alleged part in the disturbance. This was a contained incident and presented no threat to the wider community."
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, CCTV or video footage to phone 101, quoting incident number 0071 of May 20.
