Conservative Philip Seccombe has won the election for Warwickshire's police and crime commissioner.

He will retain the position he previously held following a count earlier today (May 10).

The count was held at Stoneleigh Park and there was a staggered start for the counting of the votes for each of the five districts and boroughs involved with the result.

Mr Seccombe polled 58.6 per cent of the first choice vote.

As a result of this, when announcing the result, returning officer Chris Elliot explained that no second count was needed.

He received 85,963 votes, beating Labour's Ben Twomey who came second with 45,768.

The turnout out for the Warwickshire PCC election was 38.45 per cent.

This election was originally meant to take place in May last year but was postponed due to Covid-19.
