GOOD NEWS - that crappy dump has been sold to a hotel chain

Quote "Talash Hotels which also runs the Best Western Falstaff Hotel in Warwick New Road, Leamington, bought the Allesley Hotel for an undisclosed sum and said it will continue making it a prime venue for weddings, parties and meetings.

Gavin Wright, director at Christie & Co, said: “The Allesley was the city’s premier event hotel in its heyday and offers an excellent opportunity to target Coventry’s lucrative weddings and functions market which is very much on the new owners’ agenda as they embark on a major refurbishment programme".

We went to a dinner dance there a few months ago, the room was ok except for the rain coming in over one area and soaking the people sitting there, the food was poor quality and served by staff that didn't give a toss and the drinks never taste right. The car park needs sorting out, no woman wants to walk over gravel in expensive fancy shoes.
I have never spent a night there but I was reading reviews on trip advisor and the main complaint seems to be that the place is grubby and damp.

I look forward to seeing what can be done with this place.
