She tricked the OAP

An elderly lady was stripped of her jewellery by a cold-hearted fraudster in Bedworth.

The suspect pretended to gift the elderly lady with two new gold chains.

But she removed the victim's own jewellery and made off.

Now police want to trace the thief.

She has been described as a Indian woman, aged around 30 and 5ft 3ins tall.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the Bedworth town centre at around 1pm today (July 9) and either witnessed the incident or who saw the suspect in the area.

Any witnesses or those with any information are being urged to call Warwickshire Police on 101.

Details can also be passed on to police via the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
