Coventry City Council has announced the days and times you can park for free in the city centre ahead of the final weekend before Christmas.

Be it completing those last minute festive errands or just visiting town to do something Christmassy, these are the times you will be able to do so without paying to park.

The move is part of council plans to entice shoppers and visitors into the city centre this Christmas.

Sharing the update on social media, a spokesman for the council said: "To help you make the most of the festive season, parking will be free after 3pm in all city centre council car parks on the following dates: Saturday, December 20, Monday, December 22, Tuesday, December 23.

"Plan your visit, enjoy the celebrations, and make the most of your time in the city. Find more info on council car parks online."

Car parks involved include Bishop Street/Silver Street, Salt Lane multi-storey car park, New Union Street (pictured) and West Orchards multi-storey car park. A full list of council-owned car parks is available on its website - this list contains sites that are not in the city centre.
