The forecast bad weather led to Bulkington organisers to make the 'difficult decision' to cancel the festive event
Bedworth's planned Christmas Light switch-on will still go ahead, the council has confirmed. It comes as the organisers of Bulkington's festive event tomorrow (Friday, November 14) announced it has had to be cancelled.
This is due to the yellow Met Office warning for heavy rain that is set to lash our area from 6am tomorrow morning until 6am on Saturday morning. But, with no further warnings in place for Saturday, the borough council has confirmed that Bedworth's switch-on will still go ahead.
Due to the sad cancellation of Bulkington's event, Bedworth's switch-on will be the first of the festive season in the borough. It will take over the town centre from 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
There will be almost 60 stalls across All Saints Square, Congreve Walk and the Bedworth Covered Market and Billy Bates & Sons Fun Fair will set up funfair rides and stalls which will be in High Street and King Street.
The fun will start at 3pm and will see the switch on take place on the main stage in All Saints Square from 6pm followed by a fireworks display. The full list of entertainment, inside and outside, and outside, is as follows:
