Leamington Desserts goes into administration

A Warwickshire firm employing 166 staff has been placed into administration.



KPMG Restructuring has been appointed administrator to Leamington Desserts, in Leamington Spa. The firm is a subsidiary of Polestar Foods Limited.

A spokesman said the factory, which makes frozen desserts, had been operating at a loss for some time

KPMG said it would spend the next few days "stabilising" the business and looking for new buyers.

Another subsidiary in Southam closed last May and some jobs were transferred to the Leamington factory. The frozen food company was originally part of the Heinz organisation.
