Overhead line issues continue to hit trains running between the two cities
Coventry rail services have been hit for second day by ongoing issues at Birmingham New Street. Overhead line issues at the station first emerged yesterday (July 2), impacting rail services in both Coventry and Nuneaton.
National Rail has this morning (July 3) confirmed that London Northwestern Railway between London Euston / Northampton and Birmingham New Street, between Coventry and Birmingham New Street / Liverpool Lime Street remain impacted.
But services to and from Nuneaton are back on track. They were impacted yesterday.
However, National Rail has said: "CrossCountry are no longer affected by this disruption. However, ticket acceptance is in place for today." Speaking about the situation, it added: £Some lines have now reopened following damage to the overhead electric wires in the Birmingham New Street area.
"Trains may not may not run their full routes and may still be cancelled." Train users have been warned that rail disruption is set to continue throughout the day.
It is currently estimated that disruption is set to end at 4pm. Passengers are being urged to check National Rail Enquiries for more information before they travel.
